The Detroit Tigers were shut out for the second game in a row, losing 2-0 to the Marlins in Wednesday's finale of a 3-game series at Comerica Park.
In what's becoming an unfortunate theme, the Tigers on Wednesday wasted another dominant pitching performance. Casey Mize allowed two hits and two runs to the first two batters he faced, then was unhittable before leaving to begin the seventh inning. Just as the night before, with Reese Olson's masterful outing, the Tigers couldn't do anything offensively to take advantage.
The Detroit Tigers start a new series with the Houston Astros on Friday with Casey Mize and Framber Valdez getting the starts.
