Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring. The Brewers recalled utilityman Owen Miller from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday to fill Hoskins' spot on the roster. “They don't think it's terribly bad, but still, like any hamstring strain, it's going to take two, three, four weeks,” Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy said after the Brewers' 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. Hoskins said he got hurt while rounding first base on a single to right field in the second inning of Monday's 8-6 loss to Pittsburgh.
Bryan Reynolds went 5 for 5 with a homer and two doubles, Mitch Keller threw six shutout innings and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-6 on Monday night. Pittsburgh's Jack Suwinski and Yasmani Grandal hit two-run homers. Jake Bauers delivered his first career grand slam for the Brewers, who nearly came all the way back after trailing 7-2 in the eighth inning.
A lot didn't go the Brewers way in a 4-3 loss that kept them from sweeping the Cardinals, including a play very early
